Tatra Plastics Manufacturing, based near Halifax, has won a contract to supply BT with cable housings as part of a major roll-out of high speed fibre-optic broadband.
The deal, which will see Tatra deliver junction housings for both business and domestic installations, is part of a project that has received £315m of government backing. The aim is to offer Leeds and Bradford an upgraded digital communication infrastructure.
“Businesses today are reliant on high-speed broadband and we are proud to have been chosen to help provide the infrastructure that companies need to compete for business, investment and jobs,” Tatra chairman Paul Freud told local media.
Tatra, which manufactures a range of extruded and injection moulded item, recently invested £125,000 in kit and equipment with the aim of building on its existing business.
