Möllertech is investing $9.8m to start an injection moulding plant in Elberton, the company announced. The plant will serve automotive customers, primarily BMW. 27 August 2010

Growing demand in Eastern Europe has prompted precision plastic parts manufacturer Gaudlitz to expand its injection moulding capacity in the Czech Republic this year. 20 August 2010

Plastiques Gosselin has opened a plant in Blackburn, England. Marketing manager Jean-François Pollet said the facility started with four injection moulding machines from Netstal and KraussMaffei, with clamping forces ranging from 80-300 metric tons. 19 August 2010

Sibur Plastic, part of the Russian Sibur Group, has signed an agreement with Sollers, one of Russia’s largest automotive companies, to produce and supply car and truck components. 5 July 2010

Demag Plastics Machinery Co (Ningbo) Ltd wants to turn its China injection press assembly plant into an export base to Southeast Asia and South America, and aims to have about one-third of its production shipped overseas within two years. 5 July 2010

Carl Reeve, managing director of Data Plastics, has announced the purchase of his firm’s tenth acquisition of an injection moulding company. The Witney, Oxfordshire, based operation has purchased the assets and goodwill of London-based trade moulder Abbey Plastics & Tooling. 2 July 2010

Newell Rubbermaid is reorganising its European business in a move expected to save the firm at least $50m (€40.3m) per year. 22 June 2010

Solvay Solexis has developed, together with specialist foam products producer JSP, an expanded foam version of its Solef PVDF polyvinylidene fluoride polymer. 21 June 2010
