Sam Hill departs Summit Systems to seek new heights
By Hamish Champ Posted 2 July 2012
Sam Hill, managing director of Summit Systems, has left the firm to pursue his own business interests.
Hill, who has been with the Tamworth-based company for five years, said he wanted to run his own company and stressed his departure had been “very amicable” and that he and Summit owner Mike Jordan would remain “the best of friends”.
“I reached the point where I wanted to be in complete control of my own destiny and with Summit about to record its best ever sales and with the newly-formed recycling divisions stabilised now seemed like a good time,” he said.

Having handed day-to-day control of the company over to Jordan, Hill said he would be working with existing Summit customers and suppliers “for some months to come”.
Hill said he planned to acquire a company "in the engineering and plastics sector and a number of opportunities are currently being pursued".
In a statement Jordan said: “As an owner of my own companies for over 20 years, I fully respect Sam’s decision to take the plunge and seek out his own niche in the world.
"Sam’s work with Summit Systems has enabled me to concentrate on setting up our recycling machinery division and our showcase recycling line Boomerang Plastics.
“Both of these enterprises are now stable and doing well, which means that I am very excited and re-invigorated for stepping up to the helm of Summit Systems once more.
“I wish Sam every success in his new business and am confident that we will help one another out in the future whenever the opportunity arises.”
