India’s Uflex Group announces Poland BOPET plant

Uflex Group, one of the world’s leading producers of flexible packaging materials, has started up a new BOPET film plant in Poland.
The new plant has an 8.7m wide line that runs at 500 meters per minute and can turn out 36,000 MT of film per year.
CEO Pradeep Tyle said in a statement: “We want to get ever closer to our valued film customers by locating plants next door to them.”
The plant, which is near Poznan, is part of Uflex’s global expansion strategy and is the company’s fourth overseas manufacturing facility. Last year, the company opened plants in Egypt and the US, and also has facilities in Dubai and Mexico. Another facility is under construction in Kentucky in the US and this will be operational by the end of 2012.
The Uflex group has global revenues of INR 65bn ($1.2bn).
