Bayer ups Chinese output for aliphatic coatings raw materials

The plant has increased the capacity to 27,000 tpa to meet the growing demand in Asia, particularly China, in the automotive, general industrial and plastics market. The company has been producing Desmodur N coatings raw materials at Caojing since April 2003 at a facility that had an initial capacity of 11,500 tpa.

Desmodur N is part of the Desmodur polyisocyanates range of raw materials for the formulation of a variety of polyurethane coatings, adhesives and sealants. Desmodur N is a solvent-free aliphatic polyisocyanate resin based on hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI).
