The PIAs have a long history of attracting top talent to host what is the plastics industry’s equivalent of the Oscars.
The 2012 event continues this tradition with Lock, who made his stage debut more than 20 years ago.
Now selling out the biggest venues in the UK on major tours Lock has recorded two best-selling live stand-up DVDs, while regular TV appearances include Channel 4's 8 Out Of 10 Cats and BBC2's QI and BBC1's Have I Got News For You.
He has also hosted BBC1's Live At The Apollo several times and recently appeared as a top-of-the-bill guest on Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow.
Lock will present the PIAs at the London Hilton on Park Lane in front of 800 plastics industry guests.
He will offer his original, imaginative and insightful observations about the human condition – and maybe even the plastics industry.
