German auto supplier Huf Hülsbeck & Fürst will invest $20m (£12.7m) to expand production in North America, with additional manufacturing space, injection moulding and increased employment.
Huf will add 52,000 square feet at its factory in Tennessee, the company and Tennessee state officials announced 31 January. The work will include moulding and painting capabilities and 100 more jobs at the site.
Work will begin this year, with production of final parts starting in 2014.
Huf is based in Velbert, Germany, with a sales office in Michigan, the US, and corporate headquarters in Wisconsin. It makes mechanical and electronic key systems, lock sets and remote control systems for a variety of automakers.
It launched production in Greeneville in 1995. Once the expansion is complete, Huf will have capacity to produce parts for 2.5 million vehicles annually.
