Squashed bottles win prizes for Lancaster locals

By PRW Staff
Posted 20 June 2012

To coincide with Recycle Week, which runs until 24 June, Lancaster City Council has launched a competition to raise awareness about the plight of the plastic bottle.

Locals are being asked to guess the number of plastic bottles that have been squashed into a recycling box – the winner will receive either a Kindle or an iPod shuffle.

The council is also running three road shows on bottle recycling. These will be held at Morecambe Library on 21 June, at Lancaster Market Square on 27 June and at Tesco, Carnforth on 9 July.
