Disability employer Moorland Plastics takes on staff

Barnsley’s Moorland Plastics, a not-for-profit company that employs staff with disabilities, is sett o expand.

The plastic doors and windows manufacturer intends to take on an additional 20 people during with next 12 months, bringing the total workforce to 53. The news follows six months on from a relocation to larger premises.

Marketing and sales manager, James Smith, told the BBC: "The company is a stepping stone for people with disabilities. After six months, we encourage employees to find work and we support them for as long as they need it.

"Some people just need experience in the workplace while other people need our support throughout their working life."
