A West Midlands-based company that makes trim for the auto industry is to take on extra staff to cope with increased demand.
Cab Automotive of Tipton, which manufactures plastic trim and seats, has won additional contracts with companies it supplies including Jaguar Land Rover. As a result, the company has said it is to start a night shift, which will require an additional 30 staff.
Following the reaction to the financial crisis of 2008/9 the work force had been cut back to 110 but with the new jobs announced it will be back up to 240.
Managing director John Faulkner commented: “We will be opening a night shift up and looking for about 30 people before the end of the year. In the past two years we have seen some bad times but we have bounced back and like many people in the automotive industry we are again feeling quite bullish.”
The firm will be recruiting across the board for programme engineers, programme managers and shop floor staff.
