Marmax lands high flying furniture deal

By Anthony Clark
Posted 2 July 2012

Marmax Products, a County Durham manufacturer of low maintenance outdoor furniture and fencing from 100% UK recycled plastic, has completed a project for Virgin Atlantic.

Marmax furniture is a available in a range of colours

The firm made 20 picnic benches and a tree seat for the airline’s head office near Gatwick Airport. The pieces, which were made in part from in-flight headphone bags, were fabricated in red, the airlines corporate colour.

“The funky outdoor seating not only gives a welcoming and fun feel to the grounds of Virgin’s head office, it has saved a considerable amount of waste plastic material from going to landfill,” Marmax’s sales and marketing manager Tracey Scott told local media.

The firm, which employs 20 staff at its Stanley plant, is part of the Samuel Grant Group.
