AIC Group, the composites specialist, has become an associate member of the National Composite Centre (NCC).
The Poole, Dorset-based group said its new position would enable it to “develop and mature new systems in association with the cutting edge work at the NCC, and to showcase these systems to NCC members and other users”.
It said it would also help the company to develop new processing technologies “as new materials and requirements are produced by other NCC members, helping to keep the UK at the forefront of composite manufacturing”.
The announcement follows a strategic partnership between the two organisations, where AIC is servicing the NCC’s autoclaves and the NCC has purchased four of AIC’s state-of-the-art AMCS Autoclave Management & Control Systems.
Tony Toll, AIC Group’s chief executive, said: “The NCC plays a pivotal role in the UK composites sector and we are pleased to play our part in making it a success.
“AIC is already supporting some of the biggest players in the UK industry and our membership of the NCC will widen these opportunities, enabling us to showcase our capabilities in a world-class facility.”
Peter Chivers, head of the NCC, said: “This is great news for the National Composites Centre. AIC is a leading innovator in control management systems. We are very pleased to welcome them to the growing number of NCC members.
“We look forward to AIC’s contribution to our multi-sector offering for the whole of the composites industry.”
