Forsyth had been with Wavin UK and Ireland, part of one of Europe’s largest plastic pipe manufacturers, since 1999, first as commercial director than as managing director.
Earlier this year Wavin was acquired by Mexican chemicals giant Mexichem for €531m (£428m).
IAC said its new man had a "wealth of experience in growing businesses through organic growth and by acquisition".
On his appointment Forsyth said that he was “really excited” at the prospect of strengthening the company’s position as a global leader in the noise control industry.
In a statement he said: “The future of IAC looks very strong having evolved over the last decade to a world-leading manufacturer and solution provider.
“My aim is to build upon current success and drive sustainable, profitable growth both in our current territories and in new untapped international markets.”
There has been no statement from Wavin so far regarding a replacement for Forsyth.
Until a successor has been appointed Maarten Roef, Wavin executive vice president and a member of the group's management board, will oversee the UK operation.
