By European Plastics News staff Posted 26 September 2012
European funding organisations and programmes have come together to jointly fund collaborative projects in materials science and engineering.
M-era.Net, which is a network of 37 funding organisations from across the European Union, has announced its first joint call for projects proposals. An estimated total of €30m will be invested in the projects awarded funds.
Funding will be offered to innovative projects within five themes: integrated computational materials engineering; secondary raw materials; design of new interfaces, surfaces and coatings; hybrid composites; and materials for energy systems.
M-era.Net said it intends to mobilise €150m of funding across Europe in the four years to 2016. The funding is expected to support 200 projects in the materials and engineering sectors.
More information is available on the M-era.Net website.
