The British Safety Council (BSC) has announced the winners of its Sword of Honour and Globe of Honour awards for health and safety and environmental management excellence.
Alex Botha, chief executive of the BSC, said: "On behalf of the British Safety Council I warmly congratulate the winning organisations and their employees. This year 79 organisations won the Sword of Honour and nine won the Globe of Honour.”
Amongst the winning organisations was distributor and compounder Albis (UK), which joined the ranks of companies from a wide range of industries including education and training, energy generation and distribution, financial services, food and drink, leisure, motor vehicle manufacture, offshore oil and gas, retail and utilities.
"What unites them is their shared belief that proportionate and competent risk management brings both financial and social benefits to their organisations.
"Managing health, safety and environmental risks effectively does not need to be onerous; it is quite the opposite,” added Botha.
