Borealis officially inaugurated its additional LDPE plant in Stenungsund, Sweden on 2 June.

The investment of more than €400m at the Stenungsund site comprises the new 350,000 tpa high pressure LDPE plant along with modernised compounding and material-handling facilities.

Borealis said the plant was designed and constructed with the highest wire and cable quality standards in mind.

The capacity will be focused specifically on the company’s newest products such as Supercure products for extra high voltage cables, and Visico products for low and medium voltage cables.
