Solvay Solexis has developed, together with specialist foam products producer JSP, an expanded foam version of its Solef PVDF polyvinylidene fluoride polymer.
The Solef 80 000 series expanded PVDF foam is up to sixteen times lighter than standard PVDF grades, says Solvay, and retains their mechanical, fire and chemical resistance characteristics.
The expanded PVDF can be moulded to create large-area three dimensional components in a single production step.
Applications are expected in established Solef markets such as aerospace, automotive, semiconductor and chemical process industries.
Headquartered at Bollate in Italy, Solvay Solexis is part of the Solvay Group.
JSP is a leading player in the development and application of foaming technology for polymer resins and is best known for its Arpro family of expanded PP products.
