Propac Thermoforming, a manufacturer of rigid plastic packaging in the northwest, has installed an Illig RV53c thermoformer, the first of its kind in the UK. The purchase will increase the company’s production output and flexibility for both the food and non-food markets.

Commenting upon its arrival and commissioning, Propac managing director, Malcolm Gillies, described the machine as a “significant performance investment” for the company as it continues its expansion programme.

“Our core non-food business has remained strong despite the recession and we wanted to enhance our production capability for both food and non-food areas of our business mix. The new RV53c gives us that,” added Gillies.
