Sales of the Hippo brand of rotationally moulded telephone cabinet have increased 10% since supplier Storacall TeleAcoustics commissioned Thompson Technik in the UK with a brief to improve its quality, function and appearance.
According to StoraCall TeleAcoustics sales and production director Richard Penney, “Thompson Technik helped us to undertake a thorough product design and manufacturing review in order to improve the tolerances achieved by our previous supplier and ensure a consistently accurate door fit at a lower cost.”
Thompson Technik is now producing the RM cabinet in medium density PE at its Bridgend factory in a range of colours.
Penney says Thompson’s fresh approach improved product quality by introducing a textured matt finish. “Overall the external appearance is vastly improved,” he says.
The RM cabinets provide protection for the enclosed telephone instrument against water, dirt, dust and other environmental hazards. They are suitable for out-of-hours, emergency, security, information and help-line applications.
Thompson also produces a rotationally moulded industrial telephone hood for StoraCall TeleAcoustics.
