Caerphilly-based PHS Washrooms has extended its baby changing facilities portfolio. Silver antimicrobial additives by SteriTouch feature in the new range.
Wall-mounted changing units are a space-saving option popular for use in baby changing areas and public restrooms. They can present a cross-contamination risk, notes PHS. Manufactured by Baby Point in Stowmarket, the PHS units include SteriTouch protection as standard, distributed evenly throughout their high-density polypropylene casing during the rotational moulding process.
The secure mat cartridge incorporates SteriTouch powder additive into its polyurethane “Superskin” surface and the nappy bag dispenser is powder coated for an antibacterial finish. Additives are developed at SteriTouch’s R&D facility in South Wales. Samples are moulded for customers in-house and sent for independent testing the same day.
PHS expects the whole washroom environment to benefit from the combined long-term antimicrobial effects of its products with SteriTouch protection. The range also includes hand dryers, soap dispensers and sanitary bins.
Keri Reynolds, marketing manager for PHS, says: “We have a particular focus on reducing cross-contamination. Users seeing the familiar SteriTouch logo on our products will be reassured, since the brand is synonymous with hygiene.”
SteriTouch cites as a main differentiator from its competitors that it does not charge licensing fees, and makes its brand freely available to all partners and customers.
