Outstandifold in the wetty grippers claims Evonik

By PRW Staff
Posted 20 March 2012

From this November all new tyres sold in the EU will have to carry a sticker demonstrating their environmental impact.

The tyre chart will come into operation in July

And according to Evonik Industries, its silica-organosilane reinforcing system offers users a performance-enhancing improvement in rolling resistance – an important characteristic that determines wet weather operation.

“We hold the key to the future promotion of as many tyres as possible into the green category for wet grip performance and gas consumption,” said to Hans-Detlef Luginsland, head of the tire and rubber market segment of Evonik Industries.

Evonik claims it is the worldwide only supplier to offer the tyre industry a silica-organosilane reinforcing system, which crucially determines tyre tread performance. “Without this component, rolling resistance cannot be reduced,” Luginsland added.

Although the law comes into operation on 1 November, all tyres manufactured from 1 July will have to carry the new labelling to help consumers familiarise themselves with regulation.
