Swiss materials group Gurit announced full-year sales for 2015 of CHF359.4m (£244.7m), up 10.4% year-on-year, boosted by increased demand from the wind energy sector.
Gurit's composite materials operation reported sales of CHF274m (£186.5m) in 2015, an increase of 6.7% on 2014's CHF256.7m (£174.7m).
The firm attributed this increase to the growth of the global wind energy market. Its net sales to the wind energy market grew by 18.4% to CHF155.4m (£105.8m) in 2015.
Gurit highlighted that material supply to other material markets declined by 5.5% in 2015, which it said was down to lower build rates in the aerospace segments it supplies and slightly lower sales to the marine market compared to a strong 2014.
The company's tooling business reached a new sales record year in 2015, up 26.1% year-on-year to CHF59m (£40.2m) for the year.
Gurit's composite components business reported a drop in sales of 18.2% to CHF26.4m (£18m) in 2015.
