Leicestershire-based Dudley Associates has bought six new Arburg injection moulding machines to grow its business in the past 18 months.
Ian Watts, sales and marketing manager for the firm tells PRW the company now a total of 10 injection moulding machines, six of which are new.
In October Dudley took delivery of two 50 tonne units, one for its new cleanroom and the second for general moulding. It has purchased two Arburg 320 C 500-170 Golden Edition machines.
Last month Dudley also installed a Class 7 cleanroom facility to grow its medical sector business. Watts says: “This will be an ongoing project that will be developed over the coming months. It allows us to offer our existing medical clients a prototyping development service in a cleanroom. We also hope it will attract new medical sector clients.”
The company has taken on eight new employees in the past six months taking its headcount to 32 excluding temporary staff. Watts tells PRW the firm has now purchased another 697 sq metre space next to its existing facility “giving us an overall 2,090 sq metres”.
He adds: “It is our intention over the next 12 months to refurbish the new factory and purchase more moulding machinery to keep up with current contracts. New tooling contracts won over the last six months are dictating more growth in the toolroom so we are expanding this as well and employing more toolmakers.”
Dudley, which was formed in 1991, was subject of a management buy-out in late 2014. Its range of services includes 3D CAD design and development, rapid prototyping, precision toolmaking and plastic injection moulding for the aerospace, automotive and medical sectors.
