The Polymer Machinery Manufacturers & Distributors Association (PMMDA) has announced that chairman Kevin Horne will stand down with immediate effect.
Horne, who is managing director of Wellingborough-based Renmar Plastics Machinery, said that his resignation is primarily due to increased work commitments.
Current PMMDA deputy-chairman Richard Hird, UK sales manager at Labotek GB, based in Solihull, will take over as chairman.
The committee will appoint a new deputy chairman. There are also plans to recruit a new member for the committee.
In a statement, Nikki Williams, PMMDA secretary, said: “I would like to express our gratitude to Kevin, who has done a sterling job during his time as chairman.”
She continued: “It goes without saying that Richard will be great in the chair. He always shows 100% commitment and offers tremendous support.”
