Paul Jones and Brian Allen, joint MDs at Bitrez, have attended a reception for winners of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise at Buckingham Palace.
The event was hosted by HRH Charles, Prince of Wales, who was joined by winners from more than 200 businesses
Bitrez, a leading manufacturer of specialty polymers and chemicals, won the award in the ‘Innovation’ category.
Specifically, the Standish-based company took the award for development of Curaphen, a resin product which does not use Bisphenol A (BPA).
The resins are used to line food and drink packaging. The products meet all related safety regulations, while offering processing and performance standards equivalent to BPA derivatives.
Speaking about the event, Paul Jones said: “It was an honour to have attended the event and to have met members of the Royal household. It is particularly rewarding for the company to have been recognised in the Innovation category.”
