Henry Bell, producer of pet food products, has released plans covering the introduction of recyclable plastic packaging for its Henry Bell Wild Bird Food range.
Produced by Tyler Packaging, a flexible packaging specialist based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, the new packaging is due for introduction in July.
Thomas Lee, MD at Henry Bell, said: “Developing a recyclable packaging for our new wild bird food brand ensures we lead the conversation in the category.”
The new packaging will use a polyethylene laminate developed exclusively for Tyler Packaging. The material is said to be easy to recycle and regranulate into reusable material.
Henry Bell, which is based in Grantham, Lincolnshire, estimates that more than 10 million packs of bird food, most using non-recyclable materials, are sold in the UK every year.
