To celebrate their 10th K Show, Mike Boswell, MD of Plastribution and Richard Cowling, MD of Hellyar Plastics, will be completing a 10km charity run through the streets of Dusseldorf.
The run will take place on 16 October, the first day of the K fair, the world’s largest plastics and rubber trade fair.
The duo will be raising money for The Prince’s Trust, while also highlighting the work done by the British Plastics Federation (BPF) in helping to educate young people about the importance of plastics in society and the need to take responsibility for ensuring a sustainable future.
Boswell has been representing Plastribution, which has its headquarters in Ashby-de-la-Zouche, at K shows since 1992. “As Richard and I are keen runners, it made sense to mark this milestone by organising a 10km running challenge on the opening day [of the show].”
The run will start at the K show press office at 2:45pm local time. The route will follow the Rhine river towards central Dusseldorf and back to the show. The finish will be at the BPF stand (Hall 5/A25).
Both runners aim to complete the run in 60 minutes. They will be using Adidas Parley sportswear, which incorporates fibres produced from plastics recovered ocean clean up efforts.
