Joseph Merritt Group has completed relocation of four Engel injection moulding machines for Polypipe Civils, manufacturer of thermoplastic piping systems.
The Nottingham-based heavy machinery moving and storage specialist moved the machines from Jebel Ali, Dubai, to their new home in Horncastle, Lincolnshire.
The project was executed over a total of six weeks. The first three weeks involved decommissioning, packing and transport in Dubai. The further three weeks covered shipping to Felixstowe before final delivery.
Preparations for shipping included the draining of all fluids from the machines and locking moving parts with OEM transit brackets. The machines were then vacuum packed in foil bags ahead of craning into pre-manufactured timber cases.
Engel engineers completed the recommissioning of the machines in Horncastle.
Commenting on the project, MD Richard Merritt, said: “Projects like this exemplify the expertise we have in transporting heavy machinery regardless of location or complexity. Due to the varied requirements of the project, I am very proud of the high-quality service delivered to the client by our project managers, health & safety team, and on-site operatives.”
