PRW is delighted to announce that Shaun Williamson will be the host of the upcoming 2019 Plastic Industry Awards. The event will be held on Friday, 27 September at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
Williamson is best-known for his role as Barry Evans on the very popular BBC soap opera Eastenders. He played the role over 600 episodes, between 1994 and 2004.
In answer to the question whether he fell, or was he pushed, Williamson says that he had been written in to have an affair with Pat Butcher – so he jumped.
Following Eastenders, Williamson worked with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant on Extras, Life’s Too Short, and the movie The Invention of Lying.
In addition, he had his own children’s series, Scoop, which ran between 2009 and ’11.
He has also made a series of guest TV appearances, on shows such as Mastermind, Celebrity Eggheads, The Chase, and Celebrity Pointless (four times – evidently). He is currently a regular on Al Murray’s Big Pub Quiz, which is on Dave.
Moving forward, Williamson will be on the new BBC 1 sitcom Mister Winner in the autumn, as well as Channel 5’s Five Go Barging.
He’s clearly a busy fellow, so we’re very lucky to get him as host!
PRW is looking forward to seeing everyone on the night for The Biggest Show!
